Dr. Aviane Auguste
Aviane Auguste Biography
I am a Saint Lucian epidemiologist and Assistant Professor at McGill University, specializing in cancer epidemiology and prevention.
My research focuses on understanding cancer risk factors, particularly among populations of African descent, and addressing health disparities in resource-constrained and geographically isolated settings.
As member of the leadership team within the African-Caribbean Cancer Consortium (AC3), I investigate cancer disparities and the unique challenges of small island health systems.
My work aims to leverage local resources, including collaborations with civil society and cancer support groups, to develop innovative, community-based solutions for cancer prevention and improve health outcomes in under-resourced, isolated, and hard-to-reach populations.
