Etiology of Lung, Head and Neck Cancers
My research, involving population-based cancer registries and case-control studies in the French West Indies, and cohorts mainland France, has identified novel risk factors such as banana farming and distinct HPV strains linked to head and neck cancers.
I also highlighted occupational risks, like welding and sugar cane farming, associated with laryngeal and lung cancers respectively. My more recent work (under review), conducted on the E3N cohort (~100 000 French women followed up since 1990) deepened our understanding on the role of hypertension and diabetes on early detection of cancer.
Supported by a competitive post-doctoral fellowship, I also studied the role of hormonal factors on lung and head and cancer incidence. The latter had been lacking investigations using data collected prospectively.
